Mailing list

The mailing list to reach organizers and participants is called wg-phyloinformatics and is hosted by NESCent. You can send email to all participants by posting to

The mailing list archive is only open to subscribers of the mailing list. You will need to login with your email and password to view the archives. The initial password is randomly generated and can be retrieved through the subscription information page Enter your email address with which you are subscribed into the field at the bottom of the page and click the button next to it labeled 'Unsubscribe or edit options'. The next page will have a button to have the system email you your password. You may also send requests for changes to the mailing list to

If you would like to subscribe to the mailing list, please fill out your subscription information (name and email address) on the subscription page.

Connecting to NESCent WebDAV server

The general URL is:[sharename]


  1. In finder > Go > Connect to Server
  2. Type in[sharename]
    • For example,
  3. Accept security warning about certificate
  4. enter username and password

Windows XP

  1. Go to "My Network Places"
  2. Add a Network Place (pulls up wizard)
  3. Click Next twice
  4. In internet or Network address box, type in[sharename]
    • For example,
  5. Accept certificate warning, if given.
  6. Give the share a meaningful name. Default is usually fine.
  7. Finish


The WebDAV file share is private and password-protected unless otherwise noted. One of its purposes is for sharing datasets or presentations about research that is unpublished. Unless agreed or stated otherwise (such as in accompanying README files), please assume that files found on a password-protected file share are confidential to the group who has access, and are not to be redistributed, shared with others outside the group, or made public without the express permission of the creator of those files.
