Todd Vision is the Associate Director of Informatics at NESCent and an Assistant Professor of Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He studies genome evolution, the architecture of complex traits, and computational genetics. He oversees the Phytome plant phylogenomic database and has authored a number of bioinformatic software programs, including MapPop (for the design and analysis of genome mapping studies), FISH (for evolutionary comparison of genome structure), and CAESAR (for prioritization of candidate genes for complex traits). He helped to found the Bioinformatics and Computational Graduate Training Program at UNC and teaches classes in computational and evolutionary genetics at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
