Thibaut Jombart - I am a PhD student from the University of Lyon, France (website). My PhD is about developing multivariate methods taking spatial or phylogenetic information into account explicitely (i.e. as a component of the optimized criterion). A great part of my work concerns the development and application of such methods to genetic marker data, but I also devote attention to ecological and comparative data.

I am a contributor to the R package ade4 (ade4 website), and the developer of the package adegenet (adegenet website) dedicated to multivariate analyses of molecular markers.

For now, the main topic I tackled are:

• Comparing the typological information provided by different genetic markers
• Investigating spatial genetic patterns
• Finding the essential scales of spatial patterns in multivariate data
• Exploring the phylogenetic components of comparative data
