I'm a first-year Ph.D. student at the University of Georgia in the Institute of Bioinformatics. I'm working in the Evolutionary Systems Biology Group where we're doing a number of things related to the evolution of protein kinases, including molecular dynamics and phylogeny of key regions in the kinase domain.
My Summer of Code project is building a phyloXML] parser and writer for Biopython, similar to what Dianaj is doing for Bioruby. The GSoC abstract is here, and the project page is here.
